  1. Soup: A super food for slimmers, soup is not only satisfying and delicious but studies have also shown soup can help you lose weight. It’s thought that because you have to sip soup slowly, your body has the time to realise it’s full and you won’t over-indulge. If you tend to overeat at dinner, try treating yourself to a small bowl of (non-creamy!) vege soup before eating your main meal.
     
  2. Frozen grapes: Everyone gets those cravings for something sweet, so instead of diving for the lolly jar, try a frozen grape! These little gems taste surprisingly like boiled lollies but are a lot better for you.
     
  3. Popcorn: Instead of snacking on chips when you’re on the couch, go for popcorn. As long as you choose natural popcorn without butter and salt, this is a really healthy snack. Because it’s high in fibre it will fill you up too.
     
  4. Yoghurt: A tub of low-fat yoghurt is great for satisfying your sweet-tooth and providing you with a calcium boost - particularly important for women.
     
  5. Water: No, we don’t advocate replacing all your snacks with a glass of water, but before you snack, try drinking a glass of water because sometimes your body mistakes thirst for hunger.
